Almost anything can be bought from the comfort of home these days, and sharing information to a wide range of people is just a click away. That is why the European Union has taken steps to make the online environment more secure, trustworthy, transparent and predictable across its Member States.<\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8679f61 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8679f61\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5><strong><span class=\"TextRun SCXW71675178 BCX0\" lang=\"CS-CZ\" xml:lang=\"CS-CZ\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW71675178 BCX0\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Block Text\">The Digital Security Act (DSA)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d35d50b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d35d50b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Digital Security Act (the \"Regulation\" or \"DSA\") is a European Union regulation for<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> operators<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> of platforms <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">such as<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Youtub<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">e<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, Instagram<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, Allegr<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">o<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> and other <\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">similar services.<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. The modernization and improvement of the regulatory framework for digital services in the European Union focuses on stronger user protection in the online environment, including transparency, limiting misinformation, reporting mechanisms for illegal content and other obligations \u2013 all of which the European Union expects from the Regulation.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f77a50d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"f77a50d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5><b>What are digital services?<\/b><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d9d9d52 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"d9d9d52\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The DSA applies to what it calls 'digital services'. These are various online platforms and services including social networks, online marketplaces, hosting, etc. Realistically, we can think of these SCXW264968720 BCX0\" data-ccp-parastyle=\"Block Text\">Who is affected by the DSA?<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2c82380 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2c82380\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"translation-block\">The regulation affects a wide range of digital service providers. Providers of individual services must respect the obligations imposed by the Regulation from 17 February 2024. These services then include simple transmission services, caching services and hosting services.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-7a9b5bf elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"7a9b5bf\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5 class=\"translation-block\">The principle of the DSA requirements<\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ad94fdc elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ad94fdc\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A specific feature of the Regulation is the introduction of <b>asymmetric rules<\/b>. The obligations do not apply equally to all entities but depend on the social and economic impact of the intermediary in question. Obligations are thus divided into certain groups, and gradually escalate.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335551550&quot;:6,&quot;335551620&quot;:6,&quot;335559731&quot;:0,&quot;335559738&quot;:120,&quot;335559739&quot;:120,&quot;335559740&quot;:276}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Additional obligations will apply to operators of <b>very large online platforms <\/b>and search engines. Specifically, these are entities that have an average monthly number of active recipients of their services of at least 45 million. They will then be labelled as very large operators <b>by the European Commission<\/b>. The current list of all the<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">w<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">entities can be found <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu\/cs\/node\/12334\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-25c340b elementor-blockquote--skin-boxed elementor-blockquote--align-center elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"25c340b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\tSome of the very large operators include LinkedIn, Booking.com, YouTube, Zalando and Google.\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/blockquote>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ebdee70 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ebdee70\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5><strong>Specific obligations according to the DSA<\/strong><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9cf00c6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9cf00c6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"translation-block\">The greatest emphasis is placed on the obligation of transparency and information sharing, whether in terms of publishing contact details, information on content moderation procedures or rules for handling complaints.
