The management will have a <strong>key and active role<\/strong> in managing information and communication technology (ICT) risk and the overall digital operational resilience strategy. What exactly does the new responsibility for senior management of financial institutions mean?<\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8679f61 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8679f61\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h5><strong>Which financial institutions will be affected by DORA? <\/strong><\/h5>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2c82380 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2c82380\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><strong>Starting in January 2025<\/strong> , the Regulation will bring new obligations for a wide range of financial institutions. For example, banks, cryptoasset service providers <em>(which will be regulated by the Cryptoasset Markets Regulation)<\/em>, insurance companies, insurance intermediaries and central securities depositories will have to comply with the obligations. However, this is only a basic list <strong>of the more than 20 different types of financial entities<\/strong>that will be subject to the obligations under DORA.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a595147 elementor-blockquote--skin-boxed elementor-blockquote--align-center elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"a595147\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\tThe Regulation also lists several exemptions. These include, for example, insurance intermediaries, reinsurance intermediaries or supplementary insurance intermediaries that are micro, small or medium-sized enterprises. The senior body must also be continuously involved in monitoring the monitoring of ICT risk management and has a duty to <strong>actively contribute to the overall digital operational resilience strategy. <\/strong><\/p><p>The approach of senior management should go beyond simply ensuring the resilience of ICT systems. It should then also focus on the company's employees and processes through internal policies. Indeed, the aim is also to ensure <strong>strong cyber risk awareness for all employees <\/strong>of the financial entity.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div
