But what if we told you that this may not be true at all?<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-da2d92a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"da2d92a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Ignorance of the (cybersecurity) law is no excuse <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-49c1b12 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"49c1b12\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"translation-block\">The new Cybersecurity Act (No. 264\/2025 Coll.) <strong>has been in force since 1 November 2025<\/strong> and significantly expands the number of entities that must meet the state\u2019s cybersecurity management requirements.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">From the original few hundred organisations affected by the previous legislation, the new law now applies to roughly <strong>8 to 10 thousand organisations across 22 sectors <\/strong>\u2013 from energy and transport to food production, manufacturing, public administration, and more. The small catch is that you first have to look into this yourself. Somewhat unusual \u2013 organisations must identify themselves as being subject to the law.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">This <strong>self-identification duty<\/strong> essentially applies to everyone. Organisations must <strong>assess for themselves<\/strong> whether they fall under the law and which regulated services they provide. And the answers are not always obvious at first glance. Besides the activities you provide, you must also take into account your <strong> size<\/strong> or whether you hold <strong>specific licences<\/strong>.<\/p><p class=\"translation-block\">But even with the services you provide it may not be clear right away. The law doesn\u2019t care what is key to your business, but what you <strong>actually do in practice<\/strong>. This can include activities you do \u201con the side\u201d \u2013 things that don\u2019t generate revenue but make operational sense. As soon as you meet certain size or other conditions, the law treats you as a <strong>provider of a regulated service<\/strong>. This means that by then you must have:<\/p><ul><li>clarity on whether the law applies to you,<\/li><li>an overview of the regulated services you provide,<\/li><li>and a designated person responsible for reporting them.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-09e6625 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"09e6625\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"translation-block\">At first glance this may not seem difficult, but the <strong>reality tends to be different<\/strong>. Organisations try to handle self-identification internally \u2013 logically, who knows the operations better than people inside the company? But assessing the impact of the law means <strong>comparing real activities with legal and technical interpretation<\/strong>. And those often differ. You may easily find that what you consider a simple internal task is, from a legal perspective, is a regulated service \u2013 or the opposite.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-6446687 elementor-blockquote--skin-boxed elementor-blockquote--align-center elementor-widget elementor-widget-blockquote\" data-id=\"6446687\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"blockquote.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote class=\"elementor-blockquote\">\n\t\t\t<p class=\"elementor-blockquote__content\">\n\t\t\t\tOrganisations must complete self-identification and report regulated services via the N\u00daKIB Portal by 31 December 2025.
