Cyber Resilience Act

Safer digital products thanks to the new EU Cyber Resilience Act.

Cyber security is becoming an increasingly urgent topic not only in the work environment, but also in households. In response to these threats, the European Union developed a preliminary proposal "Cyber Resilience Act".. This proposal introduces key cyber security requirements that will affect the design, development, manufacture and delivery of hardware and software products.

However, it is important to emphasize that this is only a preliminary draft of the regulation. After the approval and entry into force of this regulation, there will be a three-year periodduring which manufacturers will have time to adapt their processes and products to the new cyber security standards.

The aim of the regulation remains to ensure that devices such as fridges, TVs and other so-called "IoT" (Internet of things) appliances are safe throughout their life cycle. This measure is intended to help significantly improve the cybersecurity of these devices and minimize the risks associated with their use.

The adoption of this regulation should also make it easier for consumers to choose safe products and increase transparency about hardware and software security. At the same time, it will play a key role in bridging gaps in existing cybersecurity legislation and unifying legislation across the European Union.

Overall, the Cyber Resilience Actis a step towards strengthening cyber security in modern society and seeks to strengthen the protection of consumers and businesses in this area.
